INTERIOR DESIGN/HOME STYLING
Growing up with a artist/ award-winning interior designer for a mother, I have always loved things like embroidered linens and was taught to appreciate the subtle differences you might find in two shades of cockleshell paint.
In college, my love and study of Art and Art History opened me to my passion for European architecture, textiles, housewares and gardens all while accompanying my mother on buying trips and getting her amazing tutelage in her design philosophy, rules and tricks.
Living in London and later Italy further refined my appreciation for all kinds of tastes from the very rustic to the most opulent. I spent weekends combing markets for antique treasures and weeks admiring the most spectacular art and architecture in the world.
I consider my aesthetic to be very similar whether talking about clothing or interiors: I like the juxtaposition of a modern lucite coffee table in an otherwise ornate room, handsomely made carved wooden chairs with sunbleached sapphire velvet upholstery that I picked up as I drove by a garage sale. Traditional English heirlooms I’ve inherited mixed with my array of wildly ethereal crystal and tableware culled from Anthropologie, Tiffany, and my local Goodwill.
My favorite spaces are those that speak so clearly of the people who make it home, and that bring a sense of cosiness, calm and comfort to all who enter, but with a dash of fun or daring. Details like sound, music, outdoor spaces, textures, natural light, ambient lighting, scents…all of those things are vital to consider no matter what your budget may be.
My highest priority is to understand who you are and how you and your loved-ones live, how you want to feel and what makes you happy.
Some recent projects include room makeovers, penthouse full-interior design, updating through accessories, custom linen designs for bed linens and design/build/interiors for my daughter Aradia’s 2-story playhouse!
